Days At CHARTAM HOUSE

Chartam House is a small, beautiful family nursery in the heart of Maidenhead, London. In our beautiful Victorian house, we offer the very best nursery care to 40 children each day, aged from 3 months to 5 years.

We are committed to providing a loving and nurturing home-from-home experience for all of our children at our nursery in Maidenhead. Our small class sizes mean we are able celebrate every child’s individuality to build confidence, creativity and independence through their early years. Our children are at the forefront of absolutely everything we do and we believe all children deserve the most wonderful childhood experiences.

We provide an environment which is full of open-ended resources to inspire and ignite the children’s curiosity for learning. The children are encouraged to express their choices and interests, with the teachers engaging them in a way which nurtures and supports their development.

CHARTAM HOUSE “EXPLORERS”

The ground floor of our Maidenhead nursery is home to our babies and young toddlers. Full of experiences and resources to support the development of many “firsts”, this area is full of a wide variety of educational toys, books, puzzles, sensory materials, and messy play to stimulate the children’s senses. Each day is filled with opportunities for the children to express and extend on their own interests and to be supported with teacher-led learning.

For new children starting with us in this age group, we focus on building consistency and stability between home and nursery to ensure a smooth transition for the whole family, and a solid foundation for a wonderful relationship to begin between our family and yours. Your child will also have a Key Person who is responsible for their individual learning and development plan and will always be on hand to provide advice regarding all aspects of your child’s time at Nursery. We know that parents are a child’s first educator so strive to provide you with ideas for home, alongside advice and guidance around toilet training and behaviour management.

CHARTAM HOUSE ”ADVENTURERS”

The first floor of our Maidenhead nursery is home to our older toddlers and pre-schoolers. Here the children continue to be supported in their ever-growing knowledge and curiosity to extend their learning.  There is a strong focus on independence and for the children to direct their own learning. We fulfil this by instilling confidence, independence and encouraging exploration through their play. For those children soon starting school, we work alongside parents to help prepare their child for this transition by suggesting activities to help with phonics and early reading and writing, alongside developing their personal, social, and emotional development.

THE OUTDOORS AT CHARTAM HOUSE

At Chartam House, we are passionate believers that outdoor play and learning is as important as the indoors. Our large, beautifully designed garden offers wonderful opportunities for all our children to enjoy the outdoors, whatever their interests. From our fantastical mud kitchen to natural climbing, shaded areas for story-times and larges open spaces for ball-games and obstacle courses, your child will spend time outside every day, no matter the weather.

We also learn outside of the nursery on trips into our local communities. All children will spend time engaged in outdoor learning every day.
